Conway Robinson State Forest
Conway Robinson State Forest holds 444 acres of pine plantation, mixed pine and old-growth hardwoods that make it one of the largest tracts of undeveloped land owned by the Commonwealth in all of Northern Virginia. It is also home to 4+ miles of multi-purpose trails, almost entirely shaded by tree cover, which make it a perfect place to continue our Twilight Trail Series as we come out of the summer heat and head into Fall.
With a bit of none-too-steep elevation change, some rocky and rooted terrain, some very smooth pine needle beds, and also a few stream crossings; this course will immerse you in the middle of the prime of fall foliage leaf color changing.
This course is spectator friendly with a few alternate trails cutting through the middle making it easily accessible for family and friends to cheer on their racers. This event also includes a 1-mile fun-run.

The National Kitten Coalition is dedicated to increasing survival rates of kittens by educating and training animal shelter staff, rescue groups, veterinary communities, volunteers and fosters to provide high-quality, cost-effective care. They provide outreach and educational materials to animal welfare and veterinary professionals and the public; and promote cooperation and information sharing within the animal welfare community. - 1-Mile Fun Run is an untimed event
- Its OK for parents doing 10K/5K to run 1-mile with your kids
- Event is "Rain or Shine"
- Race Awards for top 3 finishers in each category:
Male and Female 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+ - To respect the trails we use, there is a registration limit.
- Stay on designated trails/course. Failure to follow course direction will result in disqualification.
- Portable music players / earphones are not permitted.
- Race numbers must be worn on the front / visible at all times.
- Running Strollers are permitted for Conway Robinson, we just ask that you line up towards the back to avoid contact with runners.
- There are no cut-off times... but the sun will set eventually :)
- Respect other racers, volunteers and the environment. No littering.
- From Interstate 66, just take US-20 Lee Hwy and exit north/east
- Take first right and park in the "University Blvd. Park and Ride" parking lot across the highway from Conway Robinson
- PWCPD will be there to to direct traffic / escort participants across the highway
